Unlocking Potential – Part 1

Unlocking Potential – Part 2

I continue to pray for a full release of all God has for you and that you start to fulfil the great potential He always saw in you.

In this article I would like to expand a bit further with one of the characters – Moses.
The story of Moses is such a story of God’s grace, love and faithfulness and our God never changes – so what He poured out on Moses is also available for us today. We have to look outside the book of Exodus to get more information about Moses – Heb Ch11 v 23 starts off by telling us that Moses was no ordinary child. (NIV)  Moses was born with a destiny – God would use Him to lead His people out of bondage towards the Promised Land. Paul tells us that ‘we were chosen in Christ from before the foundation of the world’ therefore you are no ordinary child. Psalm 138 v8 reminds us that God will fulfil His purpose for me. Peter reminds us that ‘we were born again not of perishable seed but of imperishable.’ (NIV) Start believing destiny and purpose for your life – you are what you think.

Next we see that Moses was a man of Vision – Hebrews 11 v 24-28 – he had a vision of eternity and made his choices in that light. He did not make his choices in the light of his surroundings and what was happening in his life but by seeing Him who is eternal. How often our circumstances dictate our choices – how good it is to make His Kingdom our first choice which then dictates all our other choices. Start touching God’s purpose for your life today – not by where and what you are you are but where God can take and make you.

Having Destiny and Vision does not always prevent us acting in the flesh as Moses found to his cost – and for 40 years found himself isolated in the backside of the desert. If that is where you are – the enemy wants to keep you there. Here’s a quote from Pastor Gregory Dickow,’ “I’m stuck. There’s nothing I can do about my situation. There’s just no way.” We’ve all thought that at times.  Sometimes we feel we’ve blown it, or we’re at the end of our rope. There’s nothing we can do, but it’s a lie.  There’s always something that we can do. There’s always a way. Friends, the devil would love for you to believe there’s nothing you can do about your situation. He wants you stuck! He wants you immobilized. He wants you defeated. And he achieves that by getting us to believe this lie. Come on – you are not stuck or finished – don’t be a prisoner to your past but be captive to your destiny.

The final word I want you to hear today is God’s estimation of Moses – a man with destiny and vision yet a man who acted in the flesh – not only a ‘burning bush experience’ but a ‘face to face encounter with God. How awesome is that!! Read Numbers 12 v 6-8 and remember this is the place where God always wants to bring us – not into condemnation, guilt and fear but in His love, grace and faithfulness to a face to face encounter with Himself. 2Cor 3v18
